Our educational mission is to deliver innovation through a global exchange of scientific research, new techniques and technologies, and to improve patient care through best practices. At the core of C3 are the live demonstrations and lectures by world leaders in interventional cardiac and vascular medicine. C3 will also host joint international sessions to increase attendee interaction with our world-renowned faculty and create a more personalized opportunity to find answers to the difficult challenges of daily clinical practice. Our agenda will include critically important sessions on how healthcare providers must adjust to a new era of scrutiny of our practices, outcomes, and cost effectiveness. As in prior years, C3 will prioritize the education of the next generation of physicians, with fellow and young practitioner programs. By popular demand, the Nurse and Technologist symposium returns to focus on the newest techniques in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Best practices will be emphasized through challenging cases, scientific abstract presentations, and publications sessions.
C3 has been designed for physicians who specialize in interventional cardiology, vascular surgery and interventional radiology; as well as fellows, residents, and other healthcare professionals interested in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
To address educational needs in the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral arterial, carotid, venous, coronary and aortic aneurysm diseases, the Academy for Continued Healthcare Learning (ACHL) is sponsoring the Complex Cardiovascular Catheter Therapeutics (C3) Advanced Endovascular and Coronary Intervention Global Summit. The conference will be designed for interventional cardiologists and vascular surgeons, as well as fellows, residents, podiatrists, radiologic technologists and other healthcare professionals interested in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and will address gaps in knowledge and competence through didactic lecture, panel discussions, debate and discussion of both pre-recorded and live case studies.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Use cardiovascular risk reduction measures and anticoagulant and antiplatelet therapy in patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
- Apply knowledge about the safety and efficacy of cardiovascular devices and techniques to clinical practice.
- Discuss the natural history, pathophysiology, and treatment options for patients with valvular and structural heart defects.
- Summarize the role of thrombus management in treatment of coronary and peripheral arterial interventional treatment.
- Differentiate various imaging techniques and how they may be utilized to examine the pathophysiology of cardiovascular disease and guide treatment decisions.
- Apply current therapeutic options for the treatment of infrarenal, endovascular, and femoropopliteal disease and critical limb ischemia to improve quality of life and limb salvage
- Discuss financial considerations of cardiovascular medicine in various settings
