Calling all clinicians involved in the treatment of heart failure patients! Registration is now open for the 2nd Annual Southern Symposium on Heart Failure, taking place Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. The symposium will be certified for continuing education credit for physicians and nurses. Earn CME/CE while learning about topics including latest guideline and treatment strategies, surgical approaches to advanced heart failure and the role of palliative care in heart failure management.
This activity is intended for cardiologists, primary care physicians, advanced practice providers, registered nurses, allied health professionals, and residents/fellows involved in the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Review current evidence-based guideline recommendations as well as more recent clinical trial findings in relation to the pharmacological management of heart failure
• Evaluate the role of device-based interventions and surgical approaches in the care of heart failure
• Develop and initiate appropriate heart failure therapeutic strategies based on the patient’s disease status and other related diagnostic factors, comorbidities, and individual needs
• Discuss the importance of patient communication tactics and care coordination models for improving clinical outcomes in with heart failure
