Innovations in Cardiovascular Therapeutics 2016 is a comprehensive educational symposium designed to educate clinicians, physician-trainees, nurses and allied health professionals across a wide range of specialties, in the application of innovative therapies for cardiovascular disease. The distinguished faculty for this event include many of the foremost clinicians at the University of Chicago Heart and Vascular Center as well as internationally recognized guest faculty. Through focused presentations, panel discussion, and interactive dialogue; participants will gain both broad perspective and detailed insights into medical, procedural, and surgical therapies for complex cardiovascular disease. Registration fees include attendance to all educational events in addition to meals, refreshments, and both evening events sponsored by Innovations in Cardiovascular Therapeutics 2016.
Online registration is now officially closed - but if you have not registered yet, you can easily register on site.
Note, fellows will be charged a $50 fee upon registration. The $50 will be refunded once you check-in at the registration desk. Please allow at least two weeks for refund processing.

This symposium is designed for general cardiologists, internists, hospitalists, family practitioners, cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons, electrophysiologists and interventional cardiologists, as well as nurses, technologists and other allied health care professionals who treat and manage heart disease.
This two-day symposium is designed to educate attendees on novel therapeutics and evidence-based
management, across the spectrum of cardiovascular disease. Additionally, cutting edge therapies in interventional cardiology, structural heart interventions, complex arrhythmia and lead management, advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation, cardiac imaging, preventive and molecular cardiology, and cardiac and vascular surgery will be discussed. The distinguished faculty for this event include many of the foremost clinicians at the University of Chicago Heart and Vascular Center, as well as internationally recognized faculty.

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be better able to:
• Outline current and emerging therapies for the treatment of valvular heart disease, with a focus on transcatheter and minimally-invasive surgical techniques
• Highlight novel catheter-based and minimally invasive therapies for complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, including the force-sensing, multi-array, and cryoballoon catheters for atrial fibrillation (AF) as well as endocardial/epicardial approaches to ventricular tachycardia (VT) ablation
• Discuss new minimally invasive and percutaneous therapies for patients with complex coronary disease including patients with multivessel disease, chronic total occlusions and severely impaired LV systolic dysfunction
• Review recent advances in the medical and mechanical management of heart failure patients across the progression of symptoms and stages with additional targeted discussion on the use of innovative pacing and defibrillation strategies, cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT), His-bundle pacing (HBP), and subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillators (S-ICDs)
• Distinguish between cardiovascular imaging modalities and their clinical application in disease assessment, risk stratification and treatment decisions
• Interpret the role of new pharmacotherapies and guidelines for the management of cardiovascular diseases with a focus on antiplatelet, anticoagulant and lipemic agents
